Hello and welcome back. Today, you’re in for a real treat. I am now working on the second volume in the “My Best Friend Is” series of children’s adventure books. This series is quickly becoming my favorite type of stories to write and I have many more planned. As a child, I used to look for book in a series that I could follow along and that is one of the reasons why I believe this book series will appeal to kids. The stories will reflect their imaginations and their hopes and dreams.
My influence in writing these stories actually goes back to those nights when I read to my kids. Adventure books seem to bring out the excitement in them and as I write them i can see, feel and remember those nights with my kids. The laughter, the wonder and the fun we had reading and imagining what would happen next.
In part two of the series, I have taken a rather morbid subject and breathed new life into it. Dead zombies! ( Is there any other type?). Anyway, the new book is called “My Best Friend Is A Zombie, Really” and it centers around a young boy by the name of Ben, who has just moved into town after his parent’s divorce and is living with his mother. This is his first Halloween by himself and his night takes an unexpected turn when he meets up with a cool, teenage zombie by the name of Leo who has problems of his own. he’s been dead for 10 years and so much wants his spirit to rest and have peace. The two boys bond after Ben is attacked by some bullies and he and Leo give them the fright of their life.
Once again I have used Kara Jaynes to do the illustrations as well as Vikiana to make the cover. Should be out real soon!
Do they remain friends? Can zombies and humans really be each other’s friends? Well, you’ll just have to buy the book to find out!…
