Hello and welcome back. Today I would like to tell you about a new book series I am working on called The “My Best Friend Is” children’s adventure book series. This book is for the 9-12 year old age group and like it says, they are children’s adventure books that kids can read and become the main character.
These are the types of books I grew up loving when I was a kid and I know my kids love these books too. I can remember rainy afternoons curled up with a good book when I was about 10 or 11 and wishing I could be the hero in the story. Well, this is what I want to give back to the kids. Kids need to start reading more and they also need role models their same age they can look up to and the heroes of these books do just that.
The first book in the series is called “My Best Friend Is A Human, Really” and it tells the tale of an alien boy who comes to Earth and becomes best friends with a 10 year boy after putting out a message into the galaxy. The story is told from the alien’s point of view and we see things as he sees them and we witness the wonder and the friendship that builds between the two.
We are busy getting the illustrations done by a very talented artist by the name of Kara Jaynes. You can find her work here. She will be doing most of the illustrating for all my books. We work well together and she has a real feel for the stories I write. The cover is being done by the absolute best cover designer I have ever met. Her name is Vikiana and she has done the cover to almost every book I have written. You can find her work here. I can’t wait for the book to be released. I think kids are going to have a new favorite book series to read!
What are their adventures like? Do they remain friends? Well, you’ll just have to buy the book to find out!…
